What is Early Years Pedagogy?

Early Years Pedagogy encompasses the practices and principles involved in educating and nurturing young children, along with the techniques and approaches that aid in their learning and growth.

How adults interact with a child

This encompasses how adults communicate, model language, encourage, question, and provide a narrative for what they are doing.

Learning environment

This includes the physical environment and equipment, as well as the structure and routines of the day.

Assessing children

We observe children whilst taking into account what they know, what they understand and can do, as well as their interests and dispositions to learn.

Planning 'Next steps'

Using the information gathered from our observations to plan children's next steps in learning and to monitor their progress

01

Considering your child's needs

At Hippitots we believe that a child's experiences should be active, engaging, sensory-rich and play-based to enable them to grow and develop. We strive to enable all of our children to leave us as confident and resilient individuals, who demonstrate independence and empathy; who value themselves and others in the world; who are kind and compassionate and who want to make a contribution to society.

02

Our Curriculum

We have created a varied and engaging early years curriculum tailored to the needs of our children, prioritising the enhancement of their communication and language abilities, whilst being adapted to each child's unique needs. We pay close attention to their personal, social and emotional development; ensuring children learn how to build friendships, how to express their emotions, and how to express their emotions, and how to become independent in caring for themselves.

EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a framework that outlines the standards for the learning, development, and care of children from birth to five years in the UK. This mandatory framework must be adhered to by all early years providers, including childminders, preschools, nurseries, and reception classes in primary schools. The EYFS identifies 7 key areas of learning, which include 3 prime areas: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Communication and Language, along with 4 specific areas: Mathematics, Literacy, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.
